This session poses additional challenges advancing much-needed actions for Greater Minnesota students given the strife between legislators and Gov. Mark Dayton. Just two days after MREA members approved the agenda, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled in favor of Dayton in the lawsuit between him and the legislature related to the governor’s line-item veto of the operating budget. Among the key issues are giving early learners in Minnesota a jump start. MREA presents a new solution to putting the state’s earliest learners first and settle political differences over early childhood education.
