Overview: The duties of the task force shall include recommending programmatic requirements for adult basic education programs of instruction leading to a standard adult high school diploma under Minnesota Statutes, section 124.52, subdivision 8.
Membership: Nine. One employee from the Minnesota Department of Education with expertise in adult basic education. One employee of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities with expertise in adult basic education. One employee of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development with expertise in adult basic education and employment. One member of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce familiar with adult basic education programs. Five administrators and teachers with expertise in the development of education curriculum from local adult basic education programs located in rural, suburban, and urban areas of the state, at least one of whom represents the Literacy Action network
Applicants are sought to represent the following: One employee from the Minnesota Department of Education with expertise in adult basic education; one employee of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities with expertise in adult basic education; one employee of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development with expertise in adult basic education and employment; one member of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce familiar with adult basic education programs; and five administrators and teachers with expertise in the development of education curriculum from local adult basic education programs located in rural, suburban, and urban areas of the state, at least one of whom represents the Literaction Action network.
Time Commitment: Meetings are held on a monthly basis for approximately 3 hours per meeting. Meetings are held at the MN Dept of Education in Roseville, MN.
