Appointments Announced for Career Pathways and Technical Education Group

The members of the Career Pathways and Technical Education Advisory Task Force have been appointed.  Of the 23 members of the task force, only 3 are from rural Minnesota, and only 8 represent K-12 schools.  The other representatives are from post-secondary institutions, businesses and economic development personnel.  Two rural legislators are also members of the Task Force:  Rep. The 2013 Minnesota Legislature established a Career Pathways and Technical Education Advisory Task Force to recommend to the Legislature how to structurally redesign secondary and postsecondary education to:

  1. Improve secondary and postsecondary outcomes for students and adult learners.
  2. Align secondary and postsecondary education programs serving students and adult learners.
  3. Align secondary and postsecondary education programs and Minnesota’s workforce needs.
  4. Measure and evaluate the combined efficacy of Minnesota’s public kindergarten through grade 12 and postsecondary education programs.

The Task Force is focused on Decision Making Help, Policy Issues and Informational needs of the task force to do its work.  The Task Force web page includes a lot of information about employment trends.
