School leaders will come together Jan. 22 for Minnesota Safe and Supportive Schools Conference: Addressing Bullying in Schools. Register now.
The conference is designed for Minnesota school administrators, school principals, teachers, school support staff, parents, student leaders, education stakeholders and community members. The conference will help participants build on their knowledge about bullying prevention and creating positive school climates. Learn more.
U.S. Department of Education Office of Safe and Healthy Students Director David Esquith will deliver the keynote “The Challenges, Emerging Issues, and Promising Practices in Improving School Climate” to open the conference. American Institutes of Research Vice President David Osher, an expert in creating safe and supportive schools, will speak in the afternoon.
Workshops on a variety of topics will be held throughout the day. Seven hours of CEUs will be offered for Minnesota teachers, nurses, and social workers. MDE has applied for CEUs for school administrators.
The conference cost is $20 for early registration and increases to $30 after January 4. Scholarships are available for students, please contact Heather.Hirsch@state.mn.us to apply.
