School Board Candidates
Jim Jensen, Triton
I have served 13 years on the Triton School Board and am currently running for another 4-year term. I am retired from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, where I was a D.A.R.E. Officer, School Resource Officer in 3 school districts, and Sheriff. As Sheriff, I worked on school safety with school districts in surrounding counties and served as chairperson of a multi-agency statewide committee. I have volunteered many hours at my children’s schools and have served 2 years on the MREA Board representing the South Zone and all rural schools. I would like to continue my service representing the South Zone for another four years.
Jake Thompson, Plainview-Elgin-Millville
I was born, raised, and educated in rural Minnesota. I was a Minnesota teacher for 10 years and have been on the Plainview-Elgin-Millville school board for the last 8 years. I know and understand the challenges facing our Greater Minnesota schools. We need to continue demanding equal and fair representation and funding for all school districts, especially those in rural Minnesota.
