Domestic Intercultural Summer Exchange Opportunity for Rural Students
NREA is promoting the American Exchange Project (AEP), a nonprofit domestic intercultural summer exchange program that is offered at no cost to students or schools. Over two weeks, graduated seniors embark on an adventure that helps them discover a new American town, rediscover their own hometown, and forge relationships with Americans they would have never met otherwise. AEP is in conversations with schools that are curious about partnering for the 2026–2027 school year.
Resources for districts interested in AEP:
There is still funding available to support additional exchange sites in the summer of 2027. High school principals and superintendents need to act soon so they have time to be considered in for the 2026-27 program year.
Please reach out to Jeff Liberty, Chief Growth Officer for AEP, directly to find out more or to indicate your interest in the program either for 2026-27 or 2027-28 at jliberty@americanexchangeproject.org
