Meet the MREA Team – Amanda Cisar
Rural Roots with a Passion to Serve
Amanda Cisar joins the Minnesota Rural Education Association as Operations Director, bringing a strong background in policy development, organizational operations, and public service. Most recently, she served as a Management Analyst with the State of Minnesota, where her work focused on analysis, coordination, and process improvement in complex systems. She also brings several years of experience as a Communications Coordinator for a local school district, where she supported community engagement efforts during the opening of a new school. In addition, Amanda offers nonprofit leadership experience, having served for more than five years as Vice Chair of the Essentia Health Foundation as well as service in other local nonprofit organizations.
Born and raised in rural Minnesota, Amanda is now raising her family in the same rural communities she proudly calls home. She brings a lived understanding of rural Minnesota—its schools, its challenges, and its strengths—that can only come from deep roots and long-standing connection. Amanda is grateful for the opportunity to support MREA’s mission and looks forward to serving members across the state with care, collaboration, and a shared commitment to rural education.
