The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is seeking funding applications to help replace old diesel school buses. This marks the first Request for Proposal under the Minnesota VW Settlement Diesel Replacement Program. Grant requests are due no later than July 19.
The grant requests may be $15,000 or $20,000 to school bus owners or their representatives around the state to replace old diesel school buses with new diesel, natural gas, propane or electric school buses. There is a total of more than $2.1 million available under this initial grant opportunity.
Grants will be awarded based on selection criteria that include emissions reduction, cost effectiveness, health effects, and environmental justice ramifications. Learn more about the grants and apply.
