MREA Membership Updates for 2026-27

As school districts, cooperatives, and associate members begin planning budgets for the 2026–27 school year, strong advocacy for Greater Minnesota education starts with MREA membership renewals. MREA remains committed to holding dues steady for another year, helping to ease financial pressures facing districts while continuing to amplify their collective voice.

MREA membership dues are calculated as follows:

  • School districts have a $1,100 base with $1 per APU, up to max of $1,400 and a max total of $2,500;
  • Cooperatives, Higher education institutions, and non-profit membership fees are $650;
  • Associate Members fees start at$1,000 ranging up to $10,000, based on brand exposure Learn More

For school districts there are two modifications to be aware of:

  • Districts with shared superintendents: when both districts are MREA members, the base for each district is reduced $275 to $825. A net savings of $550 across two districts.
  • Districts in SOD for FY27 get a 50% discount on both the base and APU count. The maximum SOD district dues are $1,250.

If your district will be sharing superintendents in the 26-27 school year or will be in SOD in FY27, please let us know so we can send you the correct renewal notice.

Watch for your renewal invoice via USPS later this spring.

In addition to putting MREA into your FY27 budget, please note that our mailing address has changed. Please update our address in your accounting system to MREA, Box 10 Moose Lake, MN 55767.  You can also download our updated W-9.

We kindly ask that you share this information with your business office prior to year-end to help ensure a smooth membership renewal process this spring and summer.

Please help MREA keep our membership base strong so we can continue being the voice of Greater Minnesota education.
