MREA is seeking to hire an administrative assistant to join the team. Applicants should embrace the mission of MREA, which puts learners first by advocating and supporting Greater Minnesota school districts and the professionals and school boards that serve the children of Minnesota.
The administrative assistant is responsible for providing a high level of member service, event coordination and support for the executive director and board. The administrative assistant needs be able to work independently and virtually, needs to be flexible in hours and time on the job, and be within reasonable commuting distance of St Cloud, MN for meetings and training. Position begins on or about May 13.
Qualifications include: At a minimum, a 2-year postsecondary degree or professional association admin assistant certification, 3 years of experience in a related position, experience with a public, nonprofit, or corporate board, strong computer and web skills, great organizational and communications skills. MREA Administrative Assistant Cindy Gerber announced her resignation last December after 15 years. She has worked with five Executive Directors (Vernae Hasbargen, Dennis Rettke, Jerry Ness, Lee Warne and Fred Nolan), many board members and countless school district superintendents and administrative assistants. Her dedication, accuracy and hard work for MREA will be greatly missed when she leaves this summer.
