MREA to Receive a 2022 Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award
The Minnesota Rural Education Association was named a 2022 Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award honoree. It will be celebrated, along with other honorees, at the Character Recognition Awards luncheon on May 17. The Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award spotlights character and ethical leadership development, honors organizations with exemplary efforts, motivates honorees for continued effort and success, and inspires others with examples to replicate.
Minnesota Rural Education Association is a membership organization serving public school districts throughout Greater Minnesota. As one voice they elevate rural education through legislative advocacy, information sharing, professional development and recognition. MREA provide a platform for members to talk together and share perspectives to help problem solve together.
“MREA is the only organization advocating exclusively for rural Minnesota education,” said Bob Indihar, executive director of MREA. “Our collaboration with Minnesota educational entities is one of our greatest strengths. We focus on showing the power of working together for the greater good of students in rural Minnesota.”
Organizations are nominated for the award, then invited to submit an application that is reviewed by a blue-ribbon evaluation panel. Synergy & Leadership Exchange administers the award and has honored 34 programs since 2011.
“In a time when divisive, negative news dominates the headlines, it is inspiring to see the great things students, schools, community groups and individuals are doing to encourage and promote good character and ethical leadership in Minnesota,” shared Wanda Sommers Wall, executive director for Synergy & Leadership Exchange.
