The National Rural Education Association (NREA) Foundation has opened submissions for its annual Essay Contest for students in rural schools across America.
Student may participate in three divisions: elementary (grades 3-5), middle (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12):
- Grades 3-5 may participate in a written essay contest using the provided prompt.
- Grades 6-12 may participate in a video essay contest using the provided prompt. Video advertisement campaigns must be 3 minutes in length maximum.
All essays, student information cards, and teacher/school endorsement letters must be mailed or emailed and received by April 15.
Prizes
The winner in the elementary division receives $250. The runner-up will receive $100. The winners in the middle/junior high and high school divisions receive $400. The runner-ups receive a $200 prize.
