MREA welcomes dynamic presenters to share best practices, solutions, and research at our 2016 Annual Conference: Making Teaching Matter.
Expectations for today’s professional teachers are redesigning teaching and making it a more demanding profession. Research continues to demonstrate that great teaching is more important than ever to student achievement.
Presenters will have the opportunity to positively impact more than 300 rural education leaders from across Greater Minnesota at the conference Nov. 13-15 at Cragun’s Resort near Brainerd.
Enhance and Challenge Teaching Profession
We’re looking for teaching profession and rural education presentations that will:
- Enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of those working in rural education
- Impart new information
- Share promising strategies, tools and best practices
- Increase cultural competency
- Demonstrate innovative ideas and solutions and what’s possible
- Challenge the experienced educational professional

Opening Keynote Speaker
Sarah Brown Wessling, a 17-year veteran of the high school English classroom, will open the conference. Wessling is a National Board Certified Teacher since 2005 and in 2010 was selected as the National Teacher of the Year, presenting more than 250 talks and workshops in 39 states and internationally.
